Fear.Fear
The ceiling can be a multi-purpose form. It can be used as a sort of concentration point when you have nothing else to do, it could be the thing that keeps you from breaking when you’re upset, or it could be fuel. Fuel to power the deepest part of your brain.
When I’m about to fall asleep, I look up. My eyes meet the ceiling. It’s still, like always. However, as the darkness forms a vignette around my vision, I begin to think of things. The universe is my common offender.
My subconscious is drowsy and doesn't restrict the flow of terrifying thoughts of the vast unknown.
Is my life a dream?
If so, who’s dreaming of me? Of this world?
If I die, would the whole milieu collapse from existence?
Am I the one dreaming?
Where am I, really?
Is everything false?
Is this even real?
Am I real?
Nothing can stop the steady stream of questions.
Soon enough, I’m wide awake. I’m shaking. I would try to pull the covers over my head in a childish gesture, to keep by to the category fear

Fear - Entry for contestFear. It’s what keeps us awake at night. It’s what makes us look back over our shoulder when we’re in the dark parts of the city. When we were all younger we said that we were fearless. We said we could do anything.
Survive a poisonous snake bite.
Find bigfoot.
Become a superhero and defeat crime.
Ect, ect, ect..
But no matter what you tell yourself you will always be afraid. Whether it be traveling late at night, lightning or the unknown. We all have that fear that makes us cringe and jump back whenever we see it or hear its name.
My fear is a fear of mirrors. The reflection of you can be both unsettling and settling. You can have a great sense of style and look and a mirror and weep because what you see is not what you want. But that is not my case. I feel that whenever I’m staring at a mirror - big or small - something is staring back. Someone or something behind me is looking right at me, ready to kill.
